Dance Classes at NICC Spring 2023
4 Week Classes Wednesdays
Apr 5 – Apr 26 Waltz 6:30 - 7:30
Now is YOUR time! Get comfortable stepping out onto the dance floor with Dennis and Sandy helping you to reach your dancing goals. During March, get familiar with steps in East Coast Swing. This dance will add another element of fun to your swing dance pleasure as it addresses new steps for music a bit too slow for single time swing. April will offer the Waltz, a “timeless” dance appropriate for Modern and Country music, as well as Big Band music. Dance while providing both physical and mental exercise also allows for spending time with friends or that special someone you care about. Come out, have a great time and enjoy ballroom dancing for a lifetime. Proper dance technique, frame, posture, floor crafting, and beat identification will be covered. No dance experience is required. Hard soled shoes are recommended and a partner is suggested, but not required.
4 Week Classes Wednesdays
Intermediate – Advance Level
Apr 5 – Apr 26 Night Club Two 7:30 - 8:30
If you already have some dance experience, the intermediate/advanced level class will improve your skills and technique, plus add different steps and combinations to your repertoire. The dance is ideal for small dance floors and is appreciated by followers of Blues, Country and Swing music. For slow dancing enthusiasts, Dennis and Sandy are offering Night Club Two during the month of April. Lovely, romantic steps of NCII will add to your enjoyment and give you an alternative to just swaying back and forth. Patterns taught will be appropriate for venues’ such as clubs, wedding, blues festivals, big band dances, and 50’s and 60’s performances. Proper dance technique, frame, posture, floor crafting, and beat identification will be covered. Hard soled shoes are recommended and a partner is suggested, but not required.
