Spring 2026 Ballroom Dance
Davenport Park and Recreation
Take advantage of the ballroom dance lessons presented by the Davenport Park and Rec. Join other couples having fun dancing. Whether you think you can dance or not, Dennis and Sandy will help you reach your dancing goals and have a great time doing it. Ballroom dancing can be enjoyed for a life time, as a teenager and for those young at heart in their active senior years. It is great mental exercise and low impact physical exercise; while at the same time, being with friends or that special someone you care about.
No dance experience required at the basic level. For those that already dance, higher levels are offered to review, learn new steps, and new dances. Patterns being taught will be appropriate for ballroom and small dance floors. You will feel comfortable stepping out on the dance floor knowing how to floor craft, whether it’s a spot dance like Swing, Rumba, or Cha-Cha or the Line-of-Dance movement for Waltz or Foxtrot. Proper dance technique, frame, posture and beat identification will be covered. Hard soled shoes are recommended and a partner is suggested, but not required. Register now.
Enrolled students are encouraged to video steps taught in their class for personal use.
